Meditation & Relaxation

 

Meditation incorporates some relaxation and breathing techniques which the person can take away with them to use whenever they feel tense.

 

Meditation is a way of training the mind to stop the inner chatter and create a more peaceful state of mind. The experience is positive and uplifting. Meditation is a useful tool to help combat the affects of ‘Stress’ on the mind and body.

 

Breathing techniques are fundamental to all forms of meditation. 

Breath is life.  It regulates the emotions.  

Older Persons’ Project

Tai Chi/Chi Kung

Both of these therapies are performed in group work.

Tai Chi has been described as a moving meditation. It provides a focus on something other than day to day issues, relaxing the mind whilst gently exercising the body.

Chi Kung exercises are designed to promote physical health and well-being.
