What they say about us -

Beneficiaries

When the Sefton O.P.E.R.A volunteers visit it is like the outside world coming in.

Mary lives alone in isolation in a bungalow but forgot she had a voice.  She never speaks to no-one only when she goes the shop. OPERA gave her the chance to use her voice not only to chat to but she sang on the mic.

Volunteers

Joining O.P.E.R.A. has not only enhanced my life it has built up confidence in my own ability.

Who would have thought voluntary work would be so rewarding and Fun Fun Fun

We felt it had been a wonderful afternoon, all seemed very happy when we left, asking us to come again soon.

At the end we knew they had enjoyed it and were still talking about things as we left.

I have loved every minute and have met lots of good friends. It has opened a new lease of life for me

Care Homes –  Thank you for what was arguably the best afternoon of entertainment the Care Home has every seen. Our residents are still talking of their encounters with “Elvis”.

University Hospitals Aintree

Ward Managers –

Your team are very professional in their approach and put the patients at ease.

The feedback from patients who have had Reiki treatments has been overwhelmingly positive and has become a regular part of our team. This is much appreciated by the staff and patients.

Patients – There is no way of measuring the joy that kindness brings, but the glow it leaves is surely one of life’s most precious things.  Thank you for being so special, so thoughtful and so kind, caring people just like you are truly hard to find.

Intergenerational Projects

Students - I thought it would be good but it turned out better.

Would love to do it again.

Now I feel there is no difference in young and older people there is just more of a story to their lives.

Older Persons - I thought the young people might be rude but they were so caring and polite. This is a wonderful opportunity.

This is a great way to get over my fears of younger people.

Tony (School Mentor) - I felt interaction was extremely positive. The partnership worked well and the school felt it was a successful project.

Parents -

Made up that my child took part. She has done really well and always talks about it, gained a lot of respect and grown in confidence.

Felt proud of him, he enjoyed attending and has gained confidence.

I didn’t think it would be as good as it has turned out – exceeded my expectations.
